Brooklyn, NY — New York City is set to unveil a new “sunnywalk” mall on the coast as part of a $300 million redevelopment of the coast.
The $300M Sunnyvale mall will include a new shopping center and a shopping plaza for “snow” in the Westchester, New York, area, according to a news release from the city.
The “somewhat old” mall is the first major redevelopment of its kind in New York City since the 1990s, when a similar project was completed in Brooklyn, the release said.
The project is part of the city’s efforts to rebrand and revitalize its coastal neighborhood.
The project will be part of an ongoing transformation of the coastal community, the city said.
The “New York Mall” will include retail, a hotel, residential and an entertainment district, the news release said, adding that the project will include up to 1,400 residential units and 1,000 hotel rooms.
The news release did not mention the number of hotels that will be built on the site.
